For severe usage and big cylinder pressure, you can avoid trouble by opening the pin clearance to 0.0020-0.0022-inch. Tight clearances are often a disaster waiting to happen. WebWrist pins from tool steel are lighter and stronger than the stock wrist pins used by Harley®. We recommend using these in any performance application. Pin diameter recommendations for .791/.792” pins - use .085” wall pins in street engines with 3-1/2” to 3-5/8” bore; heavy-duty .140” wall in engines with 3-13/16”+ bore or smaller bore engines that see severe use.
