Same outcome as earlier except now when the Taranis locked up on boot it would be flashing the stock "OPEN-TX" screen and beeping at the same time. Bugger squared!! Finally in desperation I changed the image to a one bit - i.e pure B&W - no gray scale image and everything is working perfectly.
