Your first step should be: INSERT -> FEATURES -> CONVERT TO MESH BODY. Select everything, hit OK, and then delete all graphic bodies from the feature tree, leaving only "Imported" bodies. What you could do is sink the model into the buildplate (drag the vertical axis down with the move tool) until only the part that you want to print extends above the buildplate.
